Cacao-Avocado Raw Cake

I never knew raw cakes taste so good. I was watching a few recipes on youtube and came across avocado and cacao raw cake. This amazed me and i wanted to try it right away.

I have made just a few changes in the recipe to get the taste and consistency i desire.

It is healthy and tasty and chocolatey. Chocolate cake and healthy? sounds too good to be true, but not anymore.

The texture turned out to be great . It felt like a healthy chocolate mousse cake.

A hint of avocado is in the after taste but if you let it set in the fridge overnight, cacao overpowers the avocado.

Ingredients:

Base

  1. Walnuts- 1 handful
  2. Medjool Dates- 1 handful

Cake filling

  1. Avocado-2
  2. Coconut oil-3tbsp
  3. Cacao-1 cup (you can use cocoa powder like green&black’s)
  4. Maple syrup- according to the sweetness desired (1/2cup)
  5. Vanilla extract- 2 tsp
  6. Milk- 1 cup (This can be avoided if using a food processor-just add more of coconut oil instead)

Method:

1.Powder almond and dates in food processor and press the mixture on a cake tin. Spread it evenly to form a base for the cake

2.Blend all the ingredients together in the cake filling list till the consistency is thick

3. Add milk if you feel the consistency is very thick. Adjust the quantity of maple syrup by tasting

4. Spread the cake mixture evenly in the cake tin. Let it set in the refrigerator overnight

5. Sprinkle cocoa powder(preferably dark cocoa) before serving

Note: If you are not using milk, the cake should be removed 30 minutes before serving for it to soften
